Visit America’s Most Haunted Hotel During Paranormal Weekend in Eureka Springs

If you’re a thrill seeker on the hunt for things that go bump in the night, America’s most haunted hotel is host to Eureka Springs Paranormal Weekend coming this January.  Taking place January 3rd, 4th and 5th, this weekend event has become one of the largest ghost hunts in the country.  The Crescent Hotel and its sister hotel the 1905 Basin Park Hotel will feature behind the scenes guided tours.  This year, the Basin Park Hotel will be fully closed off and exclusive to weekend participants.

The first Friday and Saturday nights of the year are devoted to Paranormal Weekend.  For those nights, ghost hunters are encouraged to bring their own equipment as they are given exclusive access to the hotels to explore and investigate.  At night, the Basin Park hotel will be closed off to staff, hotel guests and electricity.  This atmosphere will create the best setting for a ghostly encounter.  Tours will be led by Larry Flaxman, a professional paranormal investigator.  When the daytime hours roll around, special guest speakers and ghost hunters from around the world will be giving presentations.

Paranormal weekend will be packed with a busy schedule for participants.  Friday night will have a welcome reception and orientation, a ghost tour at 10:30 and 11:00 and 24 hour space passes.  On Saturday, Larry Flaxman will lead the investigation of the Crescent Hotel.  Sunday morning, a review of evidence will begin at 10:00am.  That evening, a ghost hunt will take place at the Basin Park Hotel.

Other events to attend that weekend include Flickering Tales and Not Really a Door.  Flickering Tales will take place Friday and Saturday nights at 11:00pm.  Ozark Mountain ghost stories will be told by the Crescent Hotel fire pit located behind the swimming pool.  Tickets are $12.00.  Not Really a Door is a comedy thriller about two women each claiming to be in their own home and the other is a ghost.  This one-hour supernatural story takes twists and turns from there to keep you guessing.  Show plays on Friday and Saturday nights at 10:00pm in the faculty lounge on the 4th floor.  Tickets are $15.00 and are recommended for ages 8 and up.
