There are plenty of beautiful places to enjoy hiking, biking, and the stunning natural beauty in the Eureka Springs area. However, Lake Leatherwood City Park is one of our favorite places to spend a quiet summer afternoon. This lovely urban park is only a few miles from our bed and breakfast, too, which means you can be there and enjoy the trails or the lake in no time!

Lake Leatherwood was formed by one of the largest hand-cut native limestone dams in the country, which you can (and should) walk across, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The lake itself is perfect for fishing for large-mouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, and other species. It's also a popular place for boating and swimming. Paddle boats and fishing gear are available for rent at Lake Leatherwood City Park.

Inside Lake Leatherwood City Park, you'll find a wide variety of trails traversing this 1600-acre park—25 miles of them, to be exact! It's great for walking, running, or biking. You'll enjoy plenty of wildlife, springs, an intermittent creek, historic stone walls and bridges, and beautiful rock formations along the way. The park has ten trails to explore, including looping around the lake and routes up on the ridge for spectacular panoramic views.
