The Best 4 Things to Do in Rogers AR

A short 50-minute ride from Eureka Springs is the town of Rogers, Arkansas.  Sitting in the northwestern part of the state, Rogers is rich in history and made CNN Money’s 2010 list of 100 Best Places to Live.  You will find a variety of things to do in Rogers AR including outdoor recreation, museums, and the historic War Eagle Mill.  Spend the day finding lots of things to do in Rogers AR on your next venture out in the Natural State.

From March through January, take some time to visit War Eagle Mill.  This family friendly site features an 18-foot water wheel that turns to grind the flour, a mini-museum displaying items from the 1800’s and the Bean Palace Restaurant on the 3rd floor.  The Bean Palace serves breakfast and lunch and even a tea time from 4:00 to 5:00 pm complete with cobbler and ice cream.  You’ll even have the opportunity to shop at War Eagle Mill for grains and mixes made on the property, jelly, soup, cookbooks and more.  War Eagle Mill is open daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

To learn more about the history of Rogers, be sure to stop by the Rogers Historical Museum on 2nd Street.  The museum features permanent exhibits including a replica of the old Rogers First Street, Benton County Crime Stories, Grandpa’s Workshop about the area’s architecture, The Attic, Hawkins House, and The Caboose.  Their mission is to enrich lives through education, experience, and exploration of the heritage of the region.  The museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  The best part about the museum is that it’s free to tour.

War Eagle Cavern on Beaver Lake is a great spot for outdoor enthusiasts.  The cavern offers guided tours from March through November, 7 days a week.  Visitors can walk up to Eagle Point and take in the beauty at the 40-foot tall look out over the cove.  Other points of interest include the 7-foot high Crystal Hallway and the waterfall at the end of the half-mile tour.  There is also gem panning and a half mile outdoor maze inside a wooden stockade on the property.  Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $9.00 for ages 4-11.  Before you leave, check out the Trading Post unique gift shop.

While visiting Rogers, take in a show at the Arkansas Public Theater at the Victory in downtown.  Upcoming performances at the theater this season include Cabaret, Mary Poppins, Addams Family Musical Comedy, #AChristmasCarol, Monty Python’s Spamalot, mothers and sons, Other Desert Cities, and Tuesdays with Morrie.  Evening performances begin at 8:00 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm.  Tickets are $30.00 for a Cabaret seat and $50.00 for a Cabaret table for 2.  Balcony seats are $17.00 and $10.00 for a student Balcony seat.
