Spring Hiking & Opera in the Ozarks

Spring Hiking in the OzarksSpring is a glorious time of year to be in the Ozarks. As Mother Nature begins her grand reawakening, it’s time we reawaken our senses to the incredible world that surrounds us. From the singsong of birds to the pageantry of flowers breaking through the ground in a colorful show, spring is a magical time to come explore the charming town of Eureka Springs, located in the Ozarks. The Ozarks are defined by their rugged natural beauty, stunning vistas, sparkling rivers and waterfalls, fish-filled lakes, hiking and biking trails, awe-inspiring caverns. Eureka Springs alone is surrounded by 2 rivers, 3 lakes, and plenty of land worthy of exploration.  If that weren’t enough, spring is also when the incredible Opera in the Ozarks’ season begins.  Come see what spring is all about, and book your room at our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast today.

Spring Hiking in the Ozarks

There are a tremendous number of hiking trails in Eureka Springs and the surrounding Ozark Mountains; certainly more than we can detail in one blog.  In Eureka Springs, there’s one destination for hiking that seems to outshine all the rest, and that is Lake Leatherwood City Park.  Here, there are 1,600 acres to explore, including over 25 miles of hiking trails that crisscross the park. Another popular place for a gentle hike is Black Bass Lake Park.  There’s a 1-mile loop trail that encircles the lake, in addition to a trail that leads to Standing Rock, and a trail that meanders along the bluff.  The Harmon Park Loop Trail, one of Eureka Spring’s newest trails, is a gentle 1.4 mile walk through some of the area’s most beautiful and historic spaces. If you’re looking to explore even further, there are quite a few trails to consider in Hobbs State Park, Roaring River State Park, and Dogwood Canyon Nature Park.

Opera in the Ozarks

Opera in the Ozarks Eureka Springs ArkansasSpring also means it’s time again for the annual Opera in the Ozarks performance series.  The Opera in the Ozarks series is entering into it’s 68th season this spring. Tickets are on sale now, with opening day set June 22, 2018. This incredible program started in 1950 as a summer music camp. Since then, it has changed and evolved into what it is today, which is a place where university students and graduates in Voice, Instrumental Music, and related arts come to prepare for professional careers. Though the sounds produced at these concerts are truly exceptional, one can’t help but revel in the scenic beauty of Inspiration Point, a scenic vista point overlooking the Ozark Mountains and White River valley below.

Whether you come to enjoy the entire season, or just have time for one show, consider adding a stay at our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast to your trip. We are conveniently located just 2 blocks from the Historic District of Eureka Springs.
