Original Ozark Folk Festival

It’s just about time for the 64th Annual Original Ozark Folk Festival of Eureka Springs. This is always a foot tapping good time. We hope to welcome many fans of bluegrass, mountain, and folk music to our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast November 2 – 5, 2011.

Original Ozark Folk Festival 1
Still On The Hill plays at the 64th Original Ozark Folk Festival.

The Original Ozark Folk Festival is the oldest continuously running folks festival in the United States. It began back in 1947, when today’s baby boomers were still in diapers. Just think of that. Music is timeless.

The festival features a mix of some of the finest established and up-and coming bluegrass and folk musicians around. Headlining the event this year are Still on the Hill, 3 Penny Acre, and Split Lip Rayfield. In addition, dozens of bands will perform at various venues around town throughout the festival.

One of the oldest traditions in the Original Ozark Folk Festival is the Barefoot Ball. It is what it sounds like – an unpretentious dance where folks are having so much fun dancing that sometimes they kick off their shoes. This year it takes place on November 4th in the Basin Park Hotel’s Barefoot Ballroom, which was named after the event itself. Don’t be mislead by the name, however; shoes are required to enter.

Please visit our reservation page to book a room at our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast during the 64th Original Ozark Folk Festival, November 2-5, 2011.
