Eureka Springs Romantic Getaways: What You Need to Know

Couples have been honeymooning and vacationing in Eureka Springs for many years.  This mountain town is romantic and special with its endless outdoor activities and historic and charming downtown area.  Eureka Springs romantic getaways are easy to plan if you know just what to do once you arrive.  From horseback riding through the Ozarks to enjoying an evening out in the Historic District, start planning your romantic getaway with this simple guide.

Whether you enjoy listening to live music or dancing the night away, the downtown area is the happening place to be each evening.  Stroll the streets and stop into one of the many restaurants for a specialty drink or appetizer while you listen to the evening’s live entertainment.   If you prefer a show, one of Eureka Springs greatest evening activities is a show at Intrigue Theater.  The Illusionist and the Medium is a thrilling show put on by world class illusionist Sean-Paul and Medium Juliana Fay.  You’ll be on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.  For a more intimate setting for 2, check out Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse on Hwy 23 for a romantic dinner.  Gaskins Cabin has been voted “Best Overall Restaurant in Eureka Springs 2011” and it’s not hard to see why.  Each of their steaks is hand-cut and paired with an extensive wine list.  Dine by candlelight on some of their delicious menu items including Boneless Ribeye and Top Sirloin.  Gaskins Cabin is open Wednesday through Sunday starting at 5:00 pm.

Eureka Springs is home to an abundance of outdoor recreation.  Find your way around town discovering the more than 60 natural springs that the town is named for.  Start your journey at the Crescent Hotel and you will find the Grotto Spring and Crescent Spring.  Another great spot to walk is Basin Spring Park where the Basin Spring is located.  There are also some great locations to spot a waterfall or two.  In Eureka Springs off Highway 62, you can drive right up to the Spillway at Black Bass Lake.  A little farther down the way is Tea Kettle Falls which is home to a 46-foot tall waterfall.

If you love wine and art, enjoy both on a visit to Keels Creek Winery.  Located just 3 miles from Eureka Springs, Keels Creek Winery sits on eight beautiful acres and is home to eight varieties of grapes.  Stop by the Spanish-style tasting room and enjoy a glass of wine by one of their two stone fireplaces.  Keels Creek is also home to an art gallery filled with unique works of art from local and regional artists.
