This weekend, we will celebrate Labor Day. Labor Day is the one day per year that working people all over the United States and Canada are celebrated. Tradition has been that we use the celebratory day for cooks outs, gatherings with friends and family and of course, rest and relaxation. Labor Day weekend is also the time we tend to say goodbye to summer and welcome the new season before us. While we are sure this weekend’s festivities will be a great time, everyone is Eureka Springs is really looking forward to the second weekend of September. September 8th through 11th, Eureka Springs will host the Eureka Springs Jazz Weekend.
Eureka Springs is a wonderful place to get away for the weekend, but add some music to the mix, and you are in for a treat. The Jazz Weekend will immerse you into an authentic culture of some incredible jazz music eras.
Starting on Thursday, September 8th, the 1920s will be celebrated with the Roaring 20’s Jazz Lawn Party. The party will be held at the Crescent Hotel Gardens. Crescent City Combo will be playing live music from 7-10 PM.
Next, on Friday, September 9th, Rodney Block Collective will perform at a Block party held at Basin Spring Park. This event is free to all and starts at 7:00 pm. Learn more about Rodney Block right here on his Facebook page.
Saturday, September 10th, more free jazz! Held again at Basin Spring Park, is six magical hours of live jazz music performances. Enjoy performances from talented musicians Claudia Burson Trio, Calle Soul Band, Matt & Gus Jazz Duo and Justin Young. The outdoor stage starts rocking at noon.
Saturday night move on over to The Eureka Springs Auditorium for a 7:30 pm show with The Brubeck Brothers Quartet. Get your tickets here.
Sunday, September 11th, Cap off the weekend with a Jazz Brunch event held at the Crystal Dining Room from 10 am-1 pm. The brunch features delicious food, live music and dancing. Get more info about the event here.
