Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend: A Yearly Tradition

Set your calendar for October 2nd through the 5th to take part in the 24th Annual Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend.   This event has become the third largest non-commercial annual corvette event in the United States.  Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend has grown since its start back in 1991 from just 33 cars to the thousands that make the yearly tradition today.  Fall in Eureka Springs is the time to visit for car enthusiasts.  From the Crescent Classic in early September to the PCA Palooza in early November, cars from Porsches to Ferraris can be found lining the streets.  Hundreds of vintage cars can also be seen downtown at the Antique Automobile Festival this September in Basin Spring Park.

Set in the beautiful and historic town of Eureka Springs, Corvette weekend is a great chance to enjoy the fall weather outdoors while also enjoying the beauty of the cars in attendance.  Car enthusiasts and those who just enjoy the car scene will be able to vote for a variety of categories at the Owners Choice Auto Show, hosted by the Kansas City Corvette Association.  Taking place Saturday morning from 9:00am to 1:00pm at Pine Mountain Square, awards will be given in a range of categories including Best in Show and the Long Distance Award.  This event is held rain or shine.  The Eureka Springs Trolley will also be running all day to shuttle participants to and from Pine Mountain and the Historic District.

Licensed drivers will be able to enjoy showing off their skills at the Short Course Autocross hosted by 4 State Vettes, held Thursday morning at 10:00am.  This event is great for first timers because of the low speeds and also for the more experienced drivers looking to show off their skills.  Drivers will meet at Everett Chevrolet in Springdale, Arkansas.  Another exciting event is the Fuel Economy Run taking place Friday morning at 10:00am.  Hosted by Tulsa Vette Set and meeting at Land-O-Nod Victorian Inn, this event is for every Corvette ever made.  Covering over 100 miles and lasting two hours, this event has been known to have upwards of 100 Corvettes in attendance.

Two other exciting events taking place on Friday are the Brighton Ridge Health Care Car Display and Rides for Kids.  Friday morning from 10:00am to 11:00am, the Air Capital Corvette Club of Wichita, KS will host a mini car show featuring the Air Capital Corvette Club member’s cars.  Rides for Kids will follow at 1:00pm and will go on rain or shine.  Each year, the Rich Mountain Corvette Club hosts rides for the 4th graders.

Saturday evening at the Parade of Champions, winners from the Auto Show, Autocross and Fuel Economy will tour Highway 62 beginning and ending at the Victoria Inn.  Spectators can bring chairs and line the streets to cheer on the winners.  Sunday morning at Pine Mountain Square, there will be a departing caravan at 10:00am to close out Corvette weekend.   For more information on how to register, visit the 24th Annual Eureka Spring Corvette Weekend website.

To set the stage for your relaxing weekend, Arsenic and Old Lace Bed and Breakfast has five suites waiting for you enjoy.  Rooms at the Inn include bathrobes, Jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces just to name a few amenities.  Views of the beautiful Ozark Mountains can be enjoyed from the room’s private balcony or on the wrap around veranda.  This B&B is conveniently located two blocks from local shops and dining and serves a gourmet breakfast daily.  Before making your reservation, click here to check room availability.
