All About the Eureka Springs Chamber Mid-Winter Jam

Back again for another year is the 3rd Annual Mid-Winter Hometown Jam put on by the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce.  The event will take place on February 15th at 7:00pm at The Auditorium in downtown Eureka Springs.  Tickets are $12.00 and can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center.

The talented musicians making an appearance at this year’s festival include Josh Jennings Band, The Sarah Hughes Band, SX REX, The Medicine Man Band, The Ariels, Springbilly and also Kevin Riddle.  These artists perform at various venues, special events and festivals throughout the year.  Each band will perform an original set and then come together at the end for a jam session finale.

The Josh Jennings Band is from Springfield, MO.  The band was founded in 2012 and plays in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas.  Their genre of music is American, Folk and Bluegrass.  Sarah Hughes is a singer and songwriter for The Sarah Hughes Band.  The band plays local bars in the town of Fayetteville, AR.  She has won such awards as the 2006 Folk Artist of the Year, 2005 Songwriter of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year and 2005 Folk Band of the Year by the Ozark Music Awards.  SX REX was founded in 2011.  The band consists of three brothers from Conifer, Colorado.  Their genre of music includes Rock, Experimental and Mandolin Folk.  The Medicine Man Band consists of six members from Stafford, Virginia.  Their genre of music is Acoustic, Folk and Experimental.  The Ariels play a variety of music including Rock and Roll, Blues, Country and Jazz.  The band was named after a 1950’s motorcycle and has been together since 1978.  Their hometown is Eureka Springs, AR.  Springbilly is a new addition to this year’s show.  The band consists of five members from Eureka Springs, AR.  Kevin Riddle is an up and coming artist in the music industry.  He began playing drums and guitar at a young age and soon after began writing his own music.  His hometown is Fayetteville, AR and his genre of music is Acoustic.

The Mid-Winter Hometown Jam is put on by the Greater Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce.  In addition to promoting the cultural growth of the community, the Chamber promotes tourism and contributes to the community’s quality of life.  Mike Bishop, President and CEO of the Chamber, says “The Jam is a way to increase awareness and promote the continuation of live music, as well as recognize some of the area’s best.”  The center is open seven days a week from 9:00am to 5:00pm.  Visitors can get information on restaurants, directions, things to do around town, see local art in the art gallery showcase, buy a souvenir or watch a short film on the history of Eureka Springs.
