Eureka Springs Hiking Trails to Add to Your Itinerary

The crisp and cool Fall weather makes it a marvelous season to enjoy the splendor of nature, with vibrant fall colors as your backdrop. Eureka Springs’s location in the stunning Ozark Mountains includes beautiful locales like Dogwood Canyon and the Buffalo National River—where you’ll find some fantastic hiking opportunities—plus so much more within a half-hour drive from our bed and breakfast in Eureka Springs.

Here are five of our favorite places for Eureka Springs hiking trails to explore this fall:

  1. Lake Leatherwood City Park: You don’t have to go far from the downtown area of Eureka Springs to find yourself surrounded by nature. The 2.4-mile Lake Leatherwood Loop is one of the best Eureka Springs hiking trails.
  2. Buffalo River National Area: Head to the Lost Valley Trail for some of the best Eureka Springs hiking trails. The Trail is a 2.3-mile loop considered relatively easy and presents breathtaking panoramic views of a majestic 53-foot waterfall, a stunning natural bridge, and a cave housing a spectacular 35-foot waterfall.
  3. Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area: Spanning a 12,054-acre tract of Ozark landscape along the southern shore of Beaver Lake, this is a fantastic space for Eureka Springs hiking adventures. Just about a half-hour from our bed and breakfast, you’ll find an abundance of forested trials weaving by the water.
  4. Dogwood Canyon Nature Park: This may be a little bit out of town, about 35 minutes from our bed and breakfast in Eureka Springs, but the 10,000 acres of pristine Ozark paradise is worth the scenic drive. You’ll find nine miles of hiking trails here.
  5. Eureka Springs Trail System: As a guest at our bed and breakfast in Eureka Springs, you’ll quickly see that much is within walking distance, and there’s a trail system that weaves around our town. Check out the Oil Springs hiking Trail, one of the more recent additions to this area.
