The arts are highlighted often in Eureka Springs, but never more so than on the second Saturday of every month, when new exhibits replace old. Art galleries, shops, and museums stay open until 9 p.m., frequently hosting artist receptions. Some serve drinks and appetizers. It’s always fun to browse the art galleries and shops of Eureka Springs, which feature the works of more than 1,000 artists. Many of these artists live in the region – the Ozarks draw creative folks and inspire art – though national and international artists are also represented. The advantage of attending one of the Eureka Springs Second Saturday Gallery Strolls is that it feels like a party. It’s kind of like going to see a movie with a crowd of people on opening night, which is way more fun than watching it by yourself at home.
The next Second Saturday Gallery Stroll in Eureka Springs takes place November 12. The following day, we begin an Aspiring Innkeepers Seminar at our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast. It runs for three days, from November 13-15, 2011, and is a great way to explore whether or not innkeeping is right for you.
Many people who enjoy staying at Bed and Breakfasts have, at one time or another, considered innkeeping as a career. There are many advantages to innkeeping, and many perks, yet like any career, innkeeping also has its challenges. Our Aspiring Innkeepers Seminar puts potential innkeepers at the table with working innkeepers. We’ll talk about expectations, realities, economics, and marketing. By the end of the three days, you should know if innkeeping is a good fit for you, or if you’d be happier remaining a guest.
