What could be better than horseback riding in Eureka Springs through the Ozark countryside?  Slow down for the day and take in an afternoon of riding horses through the Eureka Springs hills.  It’s a great activity for the entire family.  Riding through the Ozarks will give you an opportunity to get up close and personal with the wildlife that roams the area and see the trees and plants native to this region.

Bear Mountain Riding Stables and Dude Ranch on Hwy 62 has 12 beautiful horses ready to take you on a gentle ride through the mountains.  Experienced guides take guests on a 1-hour trail ride all the while telling great stories and information about the area.  Rides are gentle making it fun for all ages.  Trail rides are offered 7 days a week beginning at 9:00am.  If you find yourself in the area in October, be sure not to miss their popular Haunted Hayrides offered every evening in October.

Hidden Valley Guest Ranch, which is located on Hidden Valley Ranch Road, sits high in the mountains of the Ozarks.  They offer guests the option to either bring their own horse or rent one of theirs.  Roam through the trails on their 1 hour Canyon Ride or for a little bit longer, enjoy their 2 hour Challenge Ride.  If you are not comfortable riding horses but still want the experience, Hidden Valley Guest Ranch offers guests 1-hour carriage rides across the property.

Dinner Bell Ranch and Resort offers riders a cowboy adventure when visiting their ranch.  Dinner Bell Ranch and Resort can be found on Rock House Road in Eureka Springs.  Riders can choose to go for a 1-hour ride or even a full day ride.  Check out their Saddle and Paddle Ride.  In this package, horseback riders will ride horses for 1 hour and then canoe for 7 miles to Trigger Gap.  They also offer a Breakfast Lunch or Dinner Ride.  This unique ride takes guests on a 1-hour ride with a stop at a campsite for a cowboy cookout.  The entire adventure takes around 2 hours.  Call Dinner Bell Ranch for pricing.

After an afternoon of horseback riding, you need a comfortable space to come back to.  Arsenic and Old Lace bed and breakfast can be found just 2 blocks from the Historic District of Eureka Springs on Hillside Avenue.  Because it’s tucked away from the happening downtown area, there’s plenty of peace and quiet to be found on the property.  Arsenic and Old Lace offers five guest suites with some rooms offering a private patio or private balcony and all offering a seasonal fireplace.  A complimentary, gourmet breakfast is served each morning to ensure your day gets off to the proper start.  We’d love to host you on your next getaway.  For reservation information, call 479-253-5454.
