You’ve heard of Eureka Springs but what is there to do when you visit?  There is so much to do on a Eureka Springs vacation, and we’ve got it all right here in this ultimate cheatsheet.  Whether you want to spend your time outdoors, exploring the town’s Historic District or visiting the many tourist attractions, there’s something for everyone!

Fun for the whole family can be found at one of these 4 local attractions.  Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is located 7 miles from downtown.  This refuge is home to big cats including lions, cougars, and tigers.  Join the team as they feed the cats or just explore at your own pace around the property.  They are open daily starting at 9:00am.  For a little adventure through the Ozarks, check out a day at Ozark Mountain Zipline.  They offer 10 zip lines and a suspended sky bridge.  All the makings for an adventurous day can be had for just $89.00 per person.  Reservations can be made by calling 479-363-6699.  For a performance like no other, The Great Passion Play puts on a spectacular show from May to October.  A cast of almost 200 costumed actors and animals act out the greatest story ever told in an outdoor amphitheater.  Other activities to be found on the grounds include The Holy Land Tour, the Christ of the Ozarks statue, a Bible Museum and a Sacred Arts Museum.  To purchase tickets for the Passion play, click here.  And last but not least, a visit to Eureka Springs would be incomplete without a visit to the stunning Thorncrown Chapel.  This towering chapel in the woods was built with over 6,000 square feet of glass and 425 windows.  They are open April through November from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

There is no shortage of outdoor activities to be found in the area.  With the Ozark Mountains as the town’s beautiful backdrop, you can hike, bike or swim at the local parks and lakes.  Lake Leatherwood City Park sits on 1,600 acres with over 21 miles of beautiful trails to explore.  The lake also provides miles of shoreline ideal for kayaking, canoeing and lots of spots great for fishing.  For bass fishing, check out the crystal waters of Table Rock Lake in Eureka Springs.  Table Rock Lake has been recognized as one of the top bass fishing lakes in America.  It’s a beautiful place to visit with 52 miles of the lake on over 52,000 acres.

If you would rather keep your trip low key, the Historic District is a happening place with plenty to do and see.  The downtown area is home to over 20 bars and over 100 restaurants.  For easy ways to get around, hop on the Eureka Springs Trolley which has 4 fixed routes to get you where you need to go.  While riding, take in all the scenic beauty of not only the Ozark Hills but also the unique Victorian architecture of the homes and buildings that line the streets.  Eureka Springs is also home to an abundance of working artists so the streets are lined with art galleries showcasing their one-of-a-kind pieces.
