Thursday evenings will be interesting in downtown Eureka Springs for the next 6 weeks and from July 15 through August 12 when you add a Thursday night stay to your weekend you’ll qualify for our special which will make these weeks even more exciting! The Eureka Springs Downtown Network is working hard to make these festivals fun and give shoppers a chance to explore, play and have FUN after 5 PM!! Second Saturday Gallery Stroll

This weekend is the Second Saturday Galley Stroll – The nine members of the Gallery Association represent some of Eureka’s finest galleries and gift shops. The evening of the second Saturday of each month (April through December) is special because these fine businesses open their doors from 6 to 9 PM for really interesting shows and artists receptions. The July 10 Stroll is even going to be more special because the members are going to donate 10% of their sales during the stroll to the Flint Street Food Bank here in Eureka Springs. Come enjoy the weekend at Arsenic and Old Lace B&B; the Gallery Stroll and help a local food bank. Everyone wins!!

Opera in the Ozarks

Opera in the Ozarks is celebrating their 60th year of bringing Opera to the Ozark mountains at Inspiration Point near Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The season, June 18 to July 17, the talented troupe will present “Tosca”, “Don Giovanni”, and “Carmen”. They’re Back!

The Redbreated Grossbeaks have returned to the garden of Arsenic and Old Lace B&B. This is truly one of the gentlemen of Spring – we are seeing them daily and should continue to have these visitors for the next several weeks. In addition to the grossbeaks we see Indigo buntings and a myriad of other birds daily. Breakfast is and explosion of taste at the table and color in the garden! Because of our feathered guests we actually operate a B&B&B (Bed & Breakfast & Birds)! These friends are always welcomed in Eureka Springs! May is celebration of the Arts Month and the feathered visitors add a touch of art to the natural beauty of the Ozarks.

A Natural Wonder

Yesterday, as I returned home to Eureka Springs from the State bed and breakfast meeting, I drove through the Boxley Valley in the Buffalo River National Park and saw a herd of about 40 elk grazing in a small pasture right next to the road. This is an example of one of the Natural wonders just a few minutes from Arsenic and Old Lace B&B. The Boxley Valley in the Buffalo River National Park is a great place to go hiking or just take a scenic drive and it is only about 45 minutes from Eureka Springs. Enjoy the Eureka Springs attractions but plan some time to see the Natural wonders of Arkansas the Natural State!
