Eureka Springs Mardi Gras Kickoff

Monday, December 17th, 2012

While you may think that Mardi Gras is only celebrated in Louisiana in this country, think again! 2013 marks the seventh year that Eureka Springs has held it’s own Mardi Gras celebrations.

Eureka Springs Mardi Gras has grown phenomenally over the last few years. Now it is here to stay! The party begins on January 5th with the Kings Day Kick off party. Held at the Rowdy Beaver Tavern on Hwy. 62, less than 10 minutes from our Eureka Springs Inn.

The Kings Day Kick off Party starts at 5 p.m. and lasts until there’s no one left dancing (or midnight, whichever comes first)! King Krazo VIII and Queen Eureka VIII will be unveiled this same night. Enjoy free King Cake and great food for anyone masked or in costume. There will be a cash bar, dancing and 2nd Lining.

Upcoming Eureka Springs Mardi Gras Events

The upcoming months have several events that lead up to the major parade and celebration. Here are some of them:

Saturday Jan. 19, 2 p.m. ~ Taste of N’Awlins. Cafe au lait and Beignets at the Keel’s Creek Winery.

Eureka Springs Mardi gras 2013

Try a New Orleans style pastry – the Beignet

Saturday Jan. 26, 5 p.m. ~ Christening of the Floats. Cash bar, dancing and 2nd Lining at the Rowdy Beaver Tavern.

This is only the start, or course! In February the real fun begins with balls, parades and more. Check back for more updates!
