Chocolate Lovers’ Festival

Chocolate Heaven

Heaven = a fountain of chocolate.

Each February around Valentine’s Day, Eureka Springs hosts a Chocolate Lovers’ Festival. Anyone is welcome, but it’s really for those of us who believe that chocolate is divine.

In 2012, the Eureka Springs Chocolate Lovers’ Festival takes place on Saturday, February 11. Plan to dive into chocolate fountains–or at least dip strawberries and other tasty treats into them. Taste a wide selection of chocolate, from the dense and dark to the sweet and white. There will be chocolate for every palate.

Bring your sweetie and your love of chocolate to our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast the weekend of February 11th, just before Valentine’s Day. It has been said that chocolate is an aphrodisiac. Truth or Fiction? Try it and see.

Eureka Springs is Mad About Art

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

There are towns here and there that seem to draw artistic people to them. Perhaps it’s because they are aesthetically pleasing in and of themselves – boasting attractive architecture and a lovely setting. Perhaps it’s a case of “like draws like” -once a few artists take up residency, others are bound to follow. Port Townsend, WA is one of these artistic towns, as is Traverse City, MI. So, too, is Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

We see evidence of this frequently at our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast. Our guests travel to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, for many reasons, but more often than not, they travel here for the arts. At no time is this truer than during the May Festival of the Arts.

2011 is the 24th annual May Festival of the Arts. Eureka Springs gives itself over to the arts for the entire month, from the Grand Illumination of town with colorful paper lanterns, to the Blues Weekend at the start of June.

Check out the Spring Art Fair, May 13-14, 2011.

Favorite Eureka Springs May Festival of the Arts events include:

  • Downtown Art Fair, May 13 and 14, 2011, in Basin Spring Park. This open air Fine Art exhibit / sale features the work of regional artists. It’s a great place to pick up art for your home, or simply to admire great artwork.
  • Ozarks Chorale performance on May 7 at 7p.m., at the Eureka Springs City Auditorium.
  • Belle of Amherst, May 13 – 14 at 8p.m., and May 15 at 2p.m. A fantastic one woman show about Emily Dickinson, by Laurel Owen.

There are many, many more special events throughout the month of May. Find the events you’d most like to attend, then book a room at our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast. A detailed schedule of events is available at May Festival of the Arts.

Host Your Eureka Springs Wedding at Our Inn

Friday, September 11th, 2009

As we know, Eureka means, “I have found (it).” The expression first gained fame when Archimedes exclaimed it thousands of years ago, and has since been widely used. Our town of Eureka Springs was named by Burton (Buck) Saunders: the discovery he was referring to were the healing waters of the natural springs here. Certainly the waters were the reason people had first been drawn to the area, and why they stayed (along with the fabulous hunting, fishing, and of course beauty of the place).

“Eureka” may also be appropriately exclaimed when true love is found; I know that’s how I felt when I found it. When you are ready to declare your love to one another in front of witnesses, why not do it in Eureka Springs? Our bed and breakfast is wonderfully situated to host your Arkansas wedding. We offer the elegance of a Queen Anne Victorian Mansion and the beauty of our location nestled in the Ozark Mountains. Your Eureka Springs Wedding at our bed and breakfast may be based around one of several affordable wedding packages, or choose what you like from our offerings. Of utmost importance to us is that your wedding be what you want it to be, and that it is stress free.

Romance awaits you here. Spend your first nights together as a married couple in our romantic Tree-Top Suite, with two-story walls of windows overlooking the tops of trees. Why not start your lives together on top of the world?
