5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday & Saturdays
These popular and educational cemetery tours bring to life the voices of Eureka Springs’ past. The setting and timing before Halloween is just right as the days grow shorter and we settle into autumn. Sponsored by the Eureka Springs Historical Museum, the tours will focus on Civil War veterans and their lives after they returned to Eureka Springs.
Live costumed actors will perform the “Living History” of the tour, playing the roles of veterans and survivors and telling their stories. Truly, these actors breathe life into the experiences of those who lived through the Civil War. It brings a much more personal perspective to events which are often hidden by the dry facts and figures of historical records.
Another highlight of the tours will be Doug Kidd’s demonstrations within an exhibit of a Civil War surgery tent. It will be an informative presentation which will also make you greatly appreciate the wonders of modern medicine!
There’s no parking at the cemetery, but shuttles will take visitors to the cemetery from the parking lot at the Victoria Inn (4028 East Van Buren on Highway 62).
