Check out The Jewelry Show for unique jewelry, and Cottage Caboodle for all sorts of fabulous home accessories. Zark’s Fine Design Gallery features the largest American blown glass collection in the Midwest, along with jewelry and pottery. Iris at the Basin Park offers art, jewelry, prints, and a fabulous selection of local music. There is a good chance you’ll find items in Eureka Springs that you won’t find elsewhere.

When you’re ready to rest your feet and enjoy some refreshment, try Casa Colina, Local Flavor Cafe, or DeVito’s, three favorite Eureka Springs restaurants among locals. Or head back to our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast and dip your hand in the cookie jar. We keep the jars full and the cookies fresh.

If you enjoy sweets, consider participating in the Sweet Treats Tour on December 10, 2011. Nine Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfasts, including our own Arsenic and Old Lace, dress in holiday best and fill our tables with, well, sweet treats. Participants nibble their way from one inn to the next, picking up holiday decorating ideas and holiday recipes along the way. It’s great fun, and a superb way to get into the holiday spirit.

Eureka Springs 2nd Saturday

The second Saturday evening of the month is a festive occasion here in Eureka Springs, at least April through December. Art galleries open their doors from 6 – 9 p.m. for the 2nd Saturday Gallery Stroll, highlighting special shows and artist receptions. People wander from gallery to gallery, admiring art. More than one guest of our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast has returned from the Gallery Stroll with a new treasure tucked under the arm.

Eureka Springs has often been labeled a “Top Twenty-five Arts Destination” in the United States, and with good reason. The galleries located in the historic downtown village routinely showcase the work of over a thousand artists. There is literally something for every taste: raku pottery, bronze sculptures, glass art, oil paintings, and much, much more.

Our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast is close to the Historic Downtown area and the 2nd Saturday Gallery Stroll. Guests who don’t mind walking up and down some pretty impressive hills may leave their cars at the inn and leisurely stroll to and from art. Parking is available for those who would rather drive.

Eureka Springs New Great Passion Play

The New Great Passion Play opened for the season in Eureka Springs last Friday, May 6. It is scheduled to run several nights a week through October 29, 2011, as it has for more than 40 years. People come from all over the world to see the play, and many stay in our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast while they’re here.

The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs tells the story of Christ’s last days on earth, his death, and his resurrection. The cast of hundreds gives a stirring performance in a stunning location – a 4,100 seat panoramic outdoor amphitheater nestled in the Ozark Mountains surrounding Eureka Springs. The set and scenery are remarkably accurate; spectators witness chariots being pulled past an ancient marketplace, a camel caravan, and even herds of sheep.

Experience The Great Passion Play when you visit Eureka Springs.

Guests of our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast who attend The Great Passion Play frequently comment on the magnificent Christ of the Ozarks statue that is located on the grounds. The sculpted statue of Christ stands seven stories tall and seems to rise out of the mountain on which it stands. It is inspiring to stand at its feet.

The Great Passion Play is perhaps the most unique attraction in Eureka Springs. It is a remarkable experience for people of all faiths.

Sweet Treats at Arsenic and Old Lace

Well it is that time of year again! The leaves have turned and fireplaces are warming our guest’s hearts and souls. There is a feeling in the air of holidays and as always food. December 11th will mark the 4th Annual Sweet Treats Tour of Inns sponsored by the Alliance of Better Bed and Breakfasts of Eureka Springs. Beverly and I are happy to open our Inn to those lucky enough to be among the 250 to get tickets. If you don’t have your tickets or reservations give us a call. Eureka’s Silent City

Are you looking for something interesting to do when you visit Eureka Springs and Arsenic and Old Lace Bed and Breakfast? Well the Eureka Springs Historical Museum has an evening of interest and stories at the Eureka Spring’s Cemetery. The program will be presented October 15, 16, 29 and 30, the first tours begin each evening at 6 Pm and run every 15 minutes until 7:30 PM. You will learn the stories of Eureka s past through 11 costumed actors portraying these historical characters. Meet a bank robber killed in the 1922 robbery of the Eureka Spring’s Bank and many other characters from the past. Tickets are $10 for adults and are available through the Museum at (479) 253-9417 or let us know at the Arsenic and Old Lace and we will arrange for your tickets. Last year’s tours sold out quickly so don’t miss out!

Thursdays “Fun After 5 in Downtown Eureka Springs”

Second Saturday Gallery Stroll

This weekend is the Second Saturday Galley Stroll – The nine members of the Gallery Association represent some of Eureka’s finest galleries and gift shops. The evening of the second Saturday of each month (April through December) is special because these fine businesses open their doors from 6 to 9 PM for really interesting shows and artists receptions. The July 10 Stroll is even going to be more special because the members are going to donate 10% of their sales during the stroll to the Flint Street Food Bank here in Eureka Springs. Come enjoy the weekend at Arsenic and Old Lace B&B; the Gallery Stroll and help a local food bank. Everyone wins!!

May is just around the corner and for those who do not know, Eureka Springs dedicates the entire month of May to the arts. Lots of special things are happening starting with the Artrageous Parade Saturday, May 1 at 2 PM. This is a truly interesting parade celebrating Spring, the arts and creativity. Horseback Riding in Eureka Springs

For over 20 years Red Bud Riding Stables have been providing horseback riding to visitors of Eureka Springs. Bring your cameras, dust off your cowboy boots, and mount your horses! Enjoy the wildlife and beauty of the Ozarks from horseback with this family run operation. As you are guided through the varied terrain of their private wildlife preserve, you will have the opportunity to encounter deer, turkey, coyotes, red-tailed hawks, and other animals. Nature at its best!

During the summer months reservations are not necessary, but recommended. The horses are very well natured and their fees are $25.00 per person. If you are riding double with children 2-4 years old, they are charged $12.50.

Pea Ridge National Military Park

Pea Ridge National Military Park was created in 1956 and preserves the history of the pivotal 1862 battle. The park covers 4,300 acres of land and covers the entire battlefield where a little over 400 men were killed during a two day battle. Overall around 2,000 brave men died as a result of this battle. The story is not just about the generals, but about the soldiers as well. They offer the biographies of the battle’s leaders and allow you to read excerpts from letters and diaries as well.

Pea Ridge National Military Park has indoor and outdoor activities for its visitors. Especially enjoyed is the 7-mile self-guided tour road where there are 28 exhibits to interpret the war in action. If you would like to stop and enjoy nature, there are also 7 miles of trails with opportunities to see wildlife and the beautiful forest. Horse trails are available, but no rental facilities. At the Visitor Center be sure to view the museum and the bookstore, as they are very well done.
