They’re Back!

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

The Redbreated Grossbeaks have returned to the garden of Arsenic and Old Lace B&B.  This is truly one of the gentlemen of Spring – we are seeing them daily and should continue to have these visitors for  the next several weeks.  In addition to the grossbeaks we see Indigo buntings and a myriad of other birds daily.  Breakfast is and explosion of taste at the table and color in the garden!  Because of our feathered guests we actually operate a B&B&B (Bed & Breakfast & Birds)!  These friends are always welcomed in Eureka Springs!  May is celebration of the Arts Month and the feathered visitors add a touch of art to the natural beauty of the Ozarks.

Bird Watching at Arsenic & Old Lace

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

This is a wonderful season to view the birds at the Arsenic & Old Lace! Our gardens are truly lush and the birds are in abundance and loving it. So you might ask what types of birds are visiting our backyard? Well the list is extensive. While the gardens are lush, we also entice them with six seed feeders, two suet feeders, and four Humming Bird feeders! This year we have the honor of enjoying watching Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks, Red Headed Woodpeckers, Baltimore Orioles, Humming Birds, Cardinals, Indigo Buntings, Finches, and more! Along with the birds, we get other wildlife to visit as well such as deer and mixed breed squirrels.

We invite you to come and stay at the Inn, and join us view the wildlife while enjoying breakfast in the morning room!

Bird Watching in Eureka Springs

Monday, March 30th, 2009

You don’t have to be physical to enjoy birding in Eureka Springs.  Celebrate the great outdoors in a nature paradise where you can relax and enjoy bird watching in the Inn’s backyard, garden, sitting on the porch, or visit one of our local parks.  It does not matter what the season, as birds are plentiful and always amusing to watch.

To date one hundred and seventy-nine birds had been identified in the Eureka Springs area.  Among the most common are Eagles and Pileated Woodpeckers.  But best of all if romance is on your mind, you can “get two birds with one stone”.  Imagine you and your loved one surrounded by luxury, tree tops, birds,  and the sky!  Reserve the Tree Top Suite, bring your binoculars, and enjoy the getaway.

The birds are “tweeting with happiness” as we sit on the porch enjoying a refreshing glass of ice tea.  We welcome you to come,  join us, and enjoy bird watching!
